Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound organic ground turkey
  • 1 cup fresh organic baby spinach, finely chopped in food processor
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 clove(s) garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped spinach, chopped onion, minced garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated. Avoid overmixing, which can make the burgers tough.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, pressing gently to ensure they hold together.
  3. Preheat your barbecue grill to medium heat. Brush the grill with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are cooked through. Be gentle when flipping the patties to prevent them from breaking apart.
  5. Serve the turkey burgers on buns or lettuce wraps, topped with your favorite condiments and veggies. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes:

  • Due to my dietary restrictions I did not use any egg in this recipe but you can add 1 egg if you like which helps as a binder and adds moisture, texture and flavor to the burger.
  • In the photo above I topped my Turkey Burger with sauteed onions and G Hughes Sugar Free Thai Chili Sauce… Delicious!
